Please click on the button to the right and complete and return the membership questionnaire.
The completed questionnaire is the first step in the membership process. After receiving the questionnaire you will be invited to training where you will be able to meet the team. The next step is to complete a full application and interview after which the admission of the applicant to membership is voted on at the next monthly meeting.
SARTWC does not and shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion (creed), gender, gender expression, age, national origin (ancestry), disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status, in any of its activities or operations.
Our levels of membership include:
NASAR Certified SAR Tech I members
NASAR Certified SAR Tech II members
NASAR Certified SAR Tech III members
PA DCNR Field Team Leader (FTL)
PA DCNR Field Team Member (FTM)
If you are considering applying for membership with SARTWC, please consider whether you would be willing to leave home in the middle of the night, put a heavy (20 to 30+ pounds) pack on your back, go out in the dark, rain, sleet, or snow, to hike through rough terrain, swampy trails, sticker bushes, rocks, mud, snakes, and poison ivy for the next twelve hours looking for a missing person. Training a search dog can take up to 2 years and even then the dog and handler may not pass the certification evaluation to become an Active Team with SARTWC. Search and rescue is not something to be taken lightly. It involves a serious and strong commitment, "that others may live".
